Client Services Assistant – Central Wheat Belt – WA

About The firm

Our client is a successful public accounting firm led by a principal with extensive knowledge, experience, commitment to client growth, and a dedication to developing the team. With expertise in dealing with agribusiness, small business, and not-for-profits the firm is now looking for an experienced client services assistant to join the team part-time.

The Role

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answering the phones and being the first point of contact for client queries and assisting where possible
  • Acknowledging and actioning client emails
  • Updating records on the business database
  • Liaising with the ATO and ASIC on behalf of clients
  • Liaising with clients regarding their tax compliance obligations
  • Preparing and lodging documentation as directed
  • Generating, finalising and sending of invoices
  • Following up debtors with outstanding accounts
  • Drafting client correspondence by letter and email including invoices
  • Completion of record keeping tasks for clients and following up missing information
  • Administrative support to the principal and accounting team including appointments, general admin duties and office organisation

Skills and Capabilities

It is an advantage if you have worked in an Australian public practice accounting firm before. Experience in a financial services firm or other professional service firm will also be considered.

You’ll also demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – essential
  • Ability to work well to deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to complete work accurately
  • Passion for building strong client relationships
  • Strength at organising and managing time critical tasks
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Word
  • Proven typing ability
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable and payable
  • Practical experience with relevant systems (ATO, ASIC, Xero)
  • Well organised with the ability to demonstrate versatility
