questionsTop 5 Questions To Ask Yourself Before The End Of The Year!

This post is short and sweet. It revolves around a simple exercise that I do every year for myself personally and for my business. I spend an hour on it, but you can spend as much or as little time as you like. The value is in doing it!

You may have done the exercise before, and if so you’ll appreciate the value and clarity it can provide. Now is a great time to do it again. If you haven’t done it before, it’s all about answering these five key questions:

  • What are you going to start doing in the new year?
  • What are you going to stop doing in the new year?
  • What are you going to continue doing in the new year?
  • What are you going to do more of?
  • What are you going to do less of?

I always throw another one in around doing something new that I haven’t done before! So the question is:

  • What new experiences will you aim for in the new year?

Take an hour out while you’re on leave or while it’s quiet to answer these questions. Do it from two perspectives – personally and in your business. Just record anything that comes to mind for 10 minutes on each question. Let yourself go and think about the year just gone.

When you’re done, prioritise your responses from most important to least (there is no right or wrong answer here) and pick one item from each question. Now you have an action plan to focus your attention on!

Go do it!

By the way, this is a great exercise to do with your team members too and then share it! If you have kids, it’s a great exercise for them to do too. Mine do.
