Client Services Assistant – Accounting and Taxation

This CPA accounting firm is seeking an experienced Client Services Assistant to provide strong administration and client support.

Our client, a well-respected CPA accounting firm in the inner suburbs of the Gold Coast has a strong reputation for delivering great value, great service and exceptional advice and support. With a wide variety of individual and business clients to deal with, this firm is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Client Services Assistant with appropriate experience to join the team and own the client service experience, administration function, and front line of the business.

The Role

The duties and responsibilities are wide and varied but critical to the efficient running of the business. Some of the things you’ll be involved with include but are not limited to:

  • Answering the phones and being the first point of contact for client queries and assisting where possible
  • Appointments Management (meetings and calls) with clients, prospects and others
  • File setup for client meetings including checklists and ATO pre-fill report
  • Entering new clients into Xero, ATO portal and ASIC register
  • Returning client records
  • Typing of letters and simple reports to clients
  • Filing of paper or electronic documents
  • Dealing with client tax office correspondence, including forwarding as required
  • Preparing checklists of information
  • Reviewing and checking client documents
  • Contacting clients for any missing information
  • Logging of each job into the workflow system – XPM
  • Collating and preparing work papers
  • Lodgements
  • Advising clients of tax registration requirements
  • Printing and binding of finalised documents
  • Attending all corporate secretarial matters including forms
  • Monitoring tax due dates
  • Reviewing and chasing accounts receivable

Skills and Capabilities

It is absolutely essential you’ve worked in an administrative role within an Australian public accounting firm for at least 2 to 3 years.

You’ll also demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Xero experience is essential
  • Proven knowledge of ASIC and client related administration tasks will be highly regarded
  • Practical experience with relevant systems (ATO, ASIC, Xero and Xero Practice Manager or similar, HubDoc and/or Receipt Bank)
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to complete work accurately
  • Ability to work well to deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Passion for building strong client relationships
  • Accurate typing ability
  • Strength at organising and managing time critical tasks
  • Proven computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Word
  • Experience using tax office portal
  • Eager to learn new Apps to support clients
  • A dedication to the highest professional standards
